OpenVPN on Linux

These are guidelines for those who want to connect their Linux computers to Connecto VPN.

Step 1

Install the open source Pritunl Client app using their instructions or follow ours if you use Ubuntu 16.04.

To install Pritunl on Ubuntu 16.04 open Terminal and execute the following:

sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pritunl.list << EOF
deb http://repo.pritunl.com/stable/apt xenial main
EOF

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 7568D9BB55FF9E5287D586017AE645C0CF8E292A sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install pritunl-client-electron

You can just change xenial to your release codename, if run another Ubuntu version. Execute lsb_release -c to figure it out.

Step 2

Choose location from which you'd like to surf the net and download the OpenVPN profile.

Step 3

Open Pritunl, press Import Profile button in the lower left. Then select downloaded profile and press Open.
